Curious to see what happens to your blue Bebbi Sagg?
Nothing goes to waste in Basel. Within the rigorous recycling system that Basel has in place, the blue garbage bags (called Bebbi Sagg by Basel Stadt inhabitants) have a very special place. Basel has its very own KVA (Kehrichtverwertungsanlage) – a waste recycling plant – and it’s one of the most efficient in Europe. This is where Bebbi Saggs are transformed into energy, steam and heating for the city of Basel.
If you’d like to see where the magic happens, join us for a guided tour of the KVA!
